The Faculty of Engineering and Architecture at Universidad Central Joins FEVENT MÁS 2027
The institution joins as an Official Sponsor of the trade fair and as a Collaborating Academic Institution for the 1st International Seminar, strengthening the connection between the university, students, alumni, and the industry.
The Faculty of Engineering and Architecture at Universidad Central de Chile is joining FEVENT MÁS 2027 as an Official Sponsor and Collaborating Academic Institution for the 1st International Seminar. This partnership reinforces the link between academic training and the technical, production, and environmental challenges facing the construction industry.
The Faculty's participation will help bring students, academics, and alumni closer to companies, specialists, and industry professionals, fostering opportunities for learning and exchange regarding innovation, energy efficiency, sustainability, industrialization, and new technologies applied to construction.
Amidst rising demands for building performance, collaboration between academia and industry is essential to bridge the gap between knowledge and its practical application. Designing more efficient building envelopes, incorporating new materials and construction systems, and improving processes require an interdisciplinary approach—one in which engineering and architecture play a pivotal role.
A link connecting education with professional opportunities
The Faculty's involvement also reflects outreach efforts driven by the Industrial Civil Engineering Alumni Council (ICI UCEN Engineers Network), in collaboration with academic authorities and the Universidad Central’s Alumni and Employers team.
Representatives from the Network highlighted that this partnership creates a new bridge between the university, alumni, and the industry, bringing different generations closer to experiences and opportunities related to the sector's challenges.
FEVENT MÁS 2027 extends special thanks to Uwe Rohwedder, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Architecture, and Alfredo Vega Fernández, Head of the Industrial Civil Engineering program, for their willingness to collaborate. María Luisa Appelgren, Head of Alumni and Employer Relations, and Michael Mella Navarro, President of the Industrial Civil Engineering Alumni Council, together with Council members who have helped drive this partnership.
An academic perspective for the 1st International Seminar
As a Collaborating Academic Institution, the Faculty joins the mission of the 1st FEVENT International Seminar to promote the exchange of knowledge and experience regarding issues relevant to construction and building envelope solutions.
The event will address topics such as thermal regulations, energy efficiency, window and façade performance, innovation, industrialization, and sustainability, bringing together academic, technical, and business perspectives.
This collaboration expands opportunities for dialogue between those who train future professionals and those who develop, specify, and implement market solutions.
FEVENT MÁS 2027: a meeting point for the sector
The third edition of FEVENT MÁS—the International Fair for Windows, Façades, and Building Envelope Solutions—will take place on October 27, 28, and 29, 2027, at Espacio Riesco in Santiago, Chile.
The event aims to bring together over 150 exhibiting companies, 15,000 professional visitors, and representatives from more than 15 countries, across an exhibition area exceeding 8,000 m².
The involvement of the Central University’s Faculty of Engineering and Architecture strengthens academic participation in the event and supports its goal of connecting companies, professionals, and institutions to share knowledge, showcase advancements, and develop new collaborative opportunities.
