
FIRST VERSION OF THE FEVENT 2023 CONGRESS WILL PROMOTE THE CONSOLIDATION OF THE WINDOW AND GLAZED ENCLOSURES INDUSTRY WITH A SPECIAL FOCUS ON PASSIVHAUS
On July 7, the official launch of the FEVENT 2023 Congress took place at the headquarters of the Chilean Chamber of Construction in Santiago, Chile, attended by representatives of professional associations, public entities, and companies involved in the manufacturing and distribution of windows and glass enclosures, profiles, hardware, seals, and blinds, among others, both domestic and international.
This professional event will be held within the framework of the FEVENT 2023 Fair, which will take place from October 18th to 20th at the Metropolitan Santiago in the Chilean capital. It is jointly organized by the Chilean Glass, Aluminum, and PVC Trade Association (ACHIVAL) and ExpoLatam, with the sponsorship of the Technological Development Corporation of the Chilean Chamber of Construction (CDT), the Construction Institute, the Latin American Passive House Institute (ILAPH), and Arquiambiente.
During the event, the chairman of the FEVENT Congress, architect and academic Marcelo Huenchuñir, presented the main topics of the activity, which will revolve around the main themes of Passivhaus and Window Manufacturing (Wednesday 18), Non-residential Architecture and Quality Control (Thursday 19), and Housing and Industry Challenges (Friday 20).
He then went into detail about each day. On the first day, the architect discussed the Circular Economy, Zero Energy, and industrialization processes in window manufacturing, while on the second day, he highlighted topics related to Smart Facades, along with Innovation in Windows and Curtain Walls, Quality Control Techniques, and Specifications. Finally, on Friday, he discussed presentations on Real Estate Development in Housing and Designs for Greater Home Efficiency.
The three days, which will run parallel to the Fair's trade show, will feature exhibitions both in the morning and afternoon, with special mention to the Innovative Solutions space for companies. Wednesday will focus on High-Performance Windows, Thursday on Architectural Glass Technology, and Friday on Industry and User Needs.
Chairman Marcelo Huenchuñir is a distinguished architect and academic from the University of Chile. He has also served as an advisor to the Ministry of Housing on energy efficiency issues and to the Construction Institute on the development of the country's Thermal Regulations. He has established himself as one of the leading experts on the Passivhaus concept in Latin America.
REFERENCE PROFESSIONAL FAIR
FEVENT aims to become the leading event for the construction sector in the field of windows, doors, and transparent enclosure solutions and technologies, integrating the entire value chain associated with these activities, with a focus on the Chilean and South American markets. All of this takes place in a gross area of approximately 3,000 square meters, and is expected to attract approximately 7,000 professional visitors from the sector.
